Janet Jackson’s huge musical comeback has not gone exactly as planned. In a video message to fans posted on social media, the singer announced that she would once again be postponing dates on her “Unbreakable World Tour” for personal reasons. “I thought it was important that you be the first to know; my husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour,” Ms. Jackson, 49, said. Jackson has been married to Qatari businessman, Wissam al-Mana, since 2012. “Please, if you can try to understand that it’s important that I do this now,” the singer said.
“I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.” Janet’s North American leg of her tour was scheduled to begin May 14 in Las Vegas and run through August – these dates have now been postponed. Janet’s first album since 2008 titled “Unbreakable” was released in October and reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart, her seventh album to do so. Last December, Ms. Jackson postponed her first tour in four years, saying that she needed surgery. Janet called it a “difficult time,” and told her fans to “please pray for me.” She later denied social media rumors that she had throat cancer.
Now the latest cancellation has many fans asking at 49 – is Janet too old to be having a baby – and is this just a way to back out of her tour dates?
